a response to a Chalkboard prompt

Oleander Butterfly Chrysalis

She knew he was the one when he touched her wildness, reaching into where twisted barbs were thickest.

Daring her, never looking away from the beauty she stowed away behind webbed walls she’d nailed warnings on.

Squeezing gently to tend his own torn flesh, pulling back out tear-speckled handfuls of her lost wings.
