Searching — photo, courtesy of Jim Reeves

indecision stunts even
stalwart stems, who forget the
raw taste of purple in winter’s trust
broken wishes of sacred petals
peeling open in the living
silence of chrysalis time
where they’re given
enough pauses
slow growth
spaces to

in a hourglass
expansion, rushing to
fill what lays empty, willing
to carve out what needs to shift
in order to move immobile mountains
only needing a gentle reflection to show
their yawns were already woven through
clouds, cotton beads float by, observing
endless pillowy questions saying
nothing at all in their toothy
wispy smiles

With special thanks to Jim Reeves for allowing the use of his gorgeous photo, above. Be sure to check out his amazing photography he so kindly shares with us!
