on infinite relationships

A dense accumulation
of blood beads streak
his glassy flank, like tears
strung on a corked wine bottle

While her legs telescope
away from him, his orbit halts —
momentarily

Their bodies become
a hydrology experiment,
intermolecular forces diffusing
insides to outsides

Knowing her core
was unstable, his layers still
sought to pulse around her,
willing but unable
to contain her nebula

Liquid exceeds solid,
his eyes expire
as a new self tears
through an aqueous sheath,
her surfactant saving
their eternal collapse

She hovers, convulsing
beneath his gravity
as their bonds break,
again and again

Pellucid energy
permeates their curvature,
legs multiply, growing apart
of their own volition
