I have 3 girls, aged 13, 7 and 2. My family lives too far to help out in any sort of regular way, but they usually get to visit my parents for a week or two in summer (at least the two older girls). Though I suspect last year was the last time for that, as the travel is getting too difficult for my 71-year-old father.

My MIL lives close, but her health is poor so she’s not an option either. The only rare breaks I get are if my friends help me out. Sometimes we exchange childcare. I have no idea what a date night is, but it sure sounds pleasant!

Glad you get to have such a close bond with your grandchildren! It really is priceless.
