Ill-advised

I died
another tiny death today
in the bathtub, trying to build
a house of cards with a deck
of stripped suits.

Picked up
another vial of you, ill-advised
to slake my thirst.

Let’s hurry off
to decimate the daisies
and behead the begonias
before they remember
that we live
in a world of make-believe.
