It is a real issue, and one that’s not going away any time soon. We all have this programming. Even when I was making decent money designing, I had people questioning me all the time about what I actually did, and not being respected for it. I gave up trying to explain it.

I think coming at it (especially) on Medium as purely a money-making endeavor it perhaps the wrong attitude to have. What do you want your legacy to be? What should we remember you for? What coins rattle your brain in the middle of the night, begging to be dumped onto paper?

As with all creative pursuits, there’s the left-brained time (the actual creation), and our right-brained time (all the editing). For me personally, using the time of day works best (i.e. creativity in the morning when those ideas and flowing best; editing in the afternoon when I’m more detail-oriented).

Says she who has not had time to write this morning… Every day does not go as planned. Keep on writing Jack, we need your thoughts and ideas!
