Night Shades
a sonnet
Lover’s eyes plead over night shades of blue,
Batted and blinked, quicksilvered thoughts move
To each whom there is no lie between grooves,
His limbs with hers, flying carpets for two
Decadent lines of clear, adoring views
Twisted up sheets turn marketplace treats
Devoured, as hidden treasure amidst peaks
Boutiques of delight, lover’s touch accrues
Finds terms to feel, in which they don’t speak;
Tangled sounds of tongues, hungry to express
Given pieces of each, cherished as best
Bodies rupture, rejoin, in needs that seek,
Parts from their truth, never to be addressed
Avidly waiting, full of ardor’s unrest
