Sturgeon Moon

The trees are restless tonight

Their branches scratch against one another
in ways that make me
want to remind you
of that morning I sliced all the strawberries

You said it was too much until it wasn’t

You know what night undoes in us
How the grasses step aside
The insects hush their winged roar

My skin blossoms late in the season
while waiting for your rain
to peel off my sore
covered shadows

My fight blows off as a wisp in your gaze

We put the stars back in the sky

The moon winks and tells
the sun not to wait up

I wear only
a dress full of dewdrops
to breakfast

An August full moon… :)
